Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide quality dance instruction and instill an appreciation for the art of dance. We will encourage students of all ages and skill levels to excel to their fullest potential while having fun!
Danzations offers the following classes:
Creative Movement
Creative movement is a class tailored to our 3 year old tiny dancers. This class focuses on creative movement which builds on the necessary gross motor skills needed for primary dance instruction. Class includes the use of props for fun and upbeat music to learn basic skills like hopping, skipping, jumping, galloping, and balance coordination.
Notes:
1. Your child must be potty trained.
2. If you register your child for Creative Movement, your child is not eligible to register for Tap or Ballet.
Age Group: 3 year olds (students must be 3 years old by January 1)
Ballet
This class will provide an opportunity for dancers to explore the technique that started all dance, ballet. This class will work on flexibility, balance, posture in addition to learning terminology and perfecting the classical technique.
Age Group: 4 years old and up (by January 1)
Tap
Tap dance is a form of dance characterized by using ones shoes, as well as the floor, as a percussive instrument. This class will provide an opportunity for dancers to work on hearing and creating rhythm patterns.
Age Group: 4 years old and up (by January 1)
Pre-Jazz
Jazz dancing is energetic and fun, consisting of unique moves, fancy footwork, big leaps and quick turns. This is an introduction to this popular style of dance.
Age Group: 5 year olds (by January 1)
Jazz
Jazz has become one of the most popular dance styles in recent years, mainly due to its popularity on television shows, movies, music videos and commercials. Jazz dancing is energetic and fun, consisting of unique moves, fancy footwork, big leaps and quick turns.
Age Group: 6 years old and up (by January 1)
Hip Hop
Hip hop dancing represents body movements that go with the beat and rhythm of hip hop music. There is breaking, popping, locking, and free styling in hip hop dances. Hip hop dancing is considered a good exercise for those persons who perform these dances. It helps the dancers to improve flexibility, to develop body balance, and to coordinate the muscles.
Age Group: 8 years old and up (by January 1)
Contemporary
Contemporary dance is a combination of ballet, jazz, and modern. This style of dance can take on different forms and use many different types and styles of music.
Age Group: 8 years old and up (by January 1)
Pre-Pointe/ Pointe
This class will provide an opportunity for dancers, with or without Pointe work experience, to learn basic Pointe technique. The focus of the class will be strengthening and ballet technique while wearing Pointe shoes. May use Pre-Pointe or Pointe shoes.
Age Group: 12 years old and up (must be registered for Ballet)
Danzations Troupe
Anyone who is a registered as a Danzations dancer may sign up for the opportunity to perform within different styles of dance including jazz, lyrical, hip hop and musical theater in the local community. There will be auditions for each dancer to allow for proper placement. The Troupe will aim to perform 2-3 times in both the fall and spring. They will learn 2 dances as a whole and then 1-2 dances in individual groups.
Age Group: 8 years by (January 1) to Adult
Adult Beginner Hip Hop*

*Adult Class Disclaimer
Performance is optional for all participants. If you choose to perform, a costume fee will apply. These classes are for adults that are 18 and older and are intended for recreation purposes only. No previous experience is necessary. The Adult Beginner classes must also reach a minimum participation number in order to run.
Class and Costume Information
Class sizes are limited and will be strictly enforced.
All costume fees must be paid in full by the due date or your child's costumes will not be ordered. We offer an optional Joe Corbis fundraiser to help you pay for your costumes. For every item sold, you get $5.00 off your costume fee. Please note that all money raised for this fundraiser goes towards costume fees, and cannot be used to subsidize tuition costs.
