The North Carroll Boys Lacrosse Program is sponsored by NCRC, in cooperation with the Carroll County Department of Recreation. This is a true Recreational program for Boys & Girls who prefer full contact lacrosse, ages 5 to 14. 

Mission:

To provide an opportunity for young athletes to experience and learn the great game of lacrosse by learning the fundamentals, working as a team, and good sportsmanship.

Our philosophy is that when athletes love the game and learn how to work as a team – winning comes naturally. Our focus is on the athletes developing their skill, learning the rules of the game, and then coaching them on how to apply it, while playing as a team. 

Equipment

Our program wants everyone to have the opportunity to play lacrosse and we understand the sport can be expensive. We now offer Rental Kits that include a helmet, shoulder pads, arm pads and gloves with Athletes needing to have their own stick. SPRING 2025 INFORMATION

Our 3 older teams play in MYLA (Maryland Youth Lacrosse Association) https://www.leagueathletics.com/?org=MYLALAX.COM, the governing body for Maryland lacrosse. They divide players into the following leagues based upon their age as of September 1, 2023.

Leagues & Games

• Pockets (ages 5 & 6) is our developmental program. Teams will be entered into the CCBLL- Carroll County Boys Lacrosse League. Games will be played against other local Carroll County Lacrosse programs in Carroll County, on Saturday Mornings.
• Tyker (ages 7 & 8) Games are Saturdays with other Carroll County Tyker teams.
• Lightning (ages 9 & 10) Games played in the *MYLA league with games occurring during the week and/or Saturdays.
• Midgets (ages 11 & 12) Games played in the *MYLA league with games occurring during the week and/or Saturdays.
• Juniors (ages 13 & 14) Games played in the *MYLA league with games on Sundays and weekdays based on MYLA's scheduling.

Practices & Games

Our Home Field is located at Cape Horn, with practices beginning Mid-March & our first MYLA game begins March 24, 2025. 

In-house games will always be at our Home Field, at Cape Horn. More information to come!

Practice times will be set by the individual coach.

Pockets Team Athletes MUST be 5 years of age by September 1, 2024.

Tyker/Lighting/Midget/Junior Team Practices held on weeknights at various fields in the Hampstead/Manchester area. Practice times will be set by individual coaches and usually begin after 5:30pm, running for 1 to 2 hours.  All players will compete with their team in approximately ten games during the season.

This allows for development, along with a little competition. In some cases, there could be a playoff season which extends the normal season by approximately 2 weeks.

Pricing w/ Early Bird Specials

Athletes must be 14 or younger, as of September 1, 2024 for the 2025 season year.

• Pockets $85.00 per player (if registered by January 5th, 2025)

• Tyker/Lightning/Midget/Juniors $175.00 per player (if registered by January 5th, 2025)
  $165.00 per player (if registered by January 19th,2025)
  $190.00 per player (if registered by February 4th,2025)
  $210.00 per player (after February 4th, 2025)

*Siblings receive a $10 discount after the first fully paid registration.

Registration closes March 1, 2025.

Weather

All weather decisions are at the discretion of the North Carroll Lacrosse president, the team coaches and MYLA. Decisions regarding game and practice cancellations are made based upon field conditions (not actual weather) with consideration to the safety of the players involved. If lightning is visible or thunder is audible from the practice/playing field, all activities are to be stopped and players and spectators are to leave the field until 30 minutes following the last visible lightning strike or audible thunder. COVID Restrictions Restrictions will be based on current regulations of State of Maryland, Carroll County Rec and Parks, and North Carroll Rec Council.
