What: A fun, action-packed robotics and technology camp where everyone gets hands-on experience. Whether you’re a complete beginner or already have some skills, this camp will advance your robotics journey.
When: August 4th thru 8th, 2025 from 9 AM to 4 PM
(with a one-hour supervised lunch* and two snack breaks)
*lunch is not provided
Where: Ridgely Middle School
Who: Rising 4th graders and up. Students from all schools, including home schoolers, are welcome.
Cost:
- On or before June 15th: $400
- After June 15th, $450
*Need based scholarships are available.
Early drop-off after 8:15 AM, $50 for the week.
Choose one of the following tracks:
Beginner
Ready to get started with robotics? This is the perfect opportunity to learn about robotics and have the unique experience of building your own robot. (Rising 4th graders and up; no prerequisites)
Intermediate
Already know the basics? If you want to deepen your robotics knowledge and go to the next level, this is for you. (Rising 6th graders and up; must have 1 year of VEX IQ experience)
Advanced
This track is for those students who have at least 2 years of experience working with VEX IQ robotics. We will be using the VEX V5 (metal) platform. (Rising 8th graders and up; must be approved)
In addition to the intensive robotics schedule, our afternoons include breakout sessions. These 1-1/2 hour sessions will give students a hands-on experience in other exciting topics. Based on student interest, the breakout sessions could include the following:
- 3D design and printing – Learn the basics of designing and 3D printing an object.
- Woodworking – Learn the basics of woodworking including sawing, drilling, and sanding.
- Drones – Learn to operate, race, and program drones.
