Seventh District Recreation Council
The Seventh District Recreation Council serves the northern Baltimore County area with a wide variety of activities for children and adults. The SDRC is a non-profit organization qualified under IRS section 501(c)(3).

The Seventh District Basketball Program provides boys & girls ages 6-10 with an opportunity to learn and play the game of basketball. We work with the Hereford Zone Recreation and Parks Council, and the HZRPC Travel Basketball Program to accommodate players of all skill levels.

Season Schedule
1st - 5th Grades: November 1, 2011 - January 22, 2012
Leagues Offered
Clinic - A co-ed league for 6- & 7-year-olds designed to introduce your child to the game of basketball, its rules, and the fundamental skills required. Season runs from the beginning of November through the end of January. Cost is $45.00 per child.
IF YOUR CHILD IS GOING INTO SECOND GRADE AND PLAYED IN THE CO-ED CLINIC LAST YEAR AS A FIRST GRADER AND WOULD LIKE TO PLAY “UP” IN THE 8 AGE BRACKET AS A 2ND GRADER, HE OR SHE WILL BE ABLE TO DO SINCE THEY HAVE 1 YEAR OF BASKETBALL EXPERIENCE.
Ages 8-10 - The boys & girls are separated into gender specific leagues and they are divided into two different age groups (8-year-olds: 3rd grade [and 2nd graders that played last year] and 9- & 10-year-olds: 4th and 5th graders.) At this age your child will continue building on the foundation established in Clinic. Fundamentals are still stressed, while competing against teams from the other Hereford Recreation Councils. Season runs from the beginning of November through the end of January. Cost is $65.00 per child

Notice for Travel Basketball
ANY PLAYER TRYING OUT FOR, OR PLAYING IN, ANY TRAVEL LEAGUE MUST PROVIDE NOTIFICATION WHEN REGISTERING FOR REC. LEAGUE BASKBETBALL.
Generally, Travel team players fall into two categories with regards to Rec. League Basketball:
A. those that try out for a Travel team but WILL NOT play Rec. League Basketball if they make the Travel team; or
B. those that try out for a Travel team, but WILL play Rec. League Basketball even if they make the Travel team.
IF you fall into category "A" listed above (i.e. you WILL NOT play Rec. League Basketball if you make a SDRC Travel Team), you are advised to wait until after Travel team tryouts and cuts have been made until you sign up for Rec. League Basketball. SDRC Boys and Girls Travel team tryouts and cuts are scheduled to be completed by October 1, 2011. This will allow minimally a 5-day period for players that do not make the Travel team to register for Rec. League Basketball before the end of the registration period on October 6, 2011.
If you fall into category "B" above and intend to play Rec. League Basketball even if you make Travel team roster, then you are encouraged to sign up for Rec. League Basketball any time prior to October 6, 2011.
Late Registrations & Late Fees
Registrations made on or after October 7, 2011 are considered Late Registrations; however, there will not be a late fee assessed this year.
Leagues Still Open
As of October 8, 2011, the following leagues are still open, needing just a couple more players to round out each league. If you want to register for one of these leagues, please do so by clicking Register below. Please contact the commissioner to be put on the waiting list if you are interested in registering your child for a league that is not listed below:

Refund Policy
No refunds will be issued after practices begin. Any cancelled registrations, or requests for refunds, are subject to a $10 league processing fee and any applicable credit card/registration service processing fees.
