The Manchester Wrestling Program is a Junior League Wrestling Program based out of Manchester, Maryland.  The team is part of the North Carroll Rec Council, and competes in the Maryland Junior Wrestling League (MJWL) and the Carroll County Wrestling Association (CWA).  The MJWL is comprised of approximately 24 teams from throughout the state of Maryland, and the CWA is comprised of approximately 4 teams in Carroll County.

History

The program was founded in 1974 by Ken Kiler, who is now a member of the National Wrestling Coaches Hall of Fame and the Carroll County Sports Hall of Fame.  Ken started the program using gymnastics mats taped together to practice on.  The program has since grown to be one of the top Junior League Wrestling Programs in the state of Maryland.  Over the years, Manchester Wrestling has produced many skilled wrestlers including; an NCAA Division I All-American, a Junior College 2x National Champion, multiple Division I wrestlers, and High School State Champions in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Texas.  

Mission

Manchester Wrestling provides young athletes with a solid foundation in the sport of wrestling, while also teaching the core values of integrity, discipline, and mental toughness.  Our goal is to develop our youth not only into better wrestlers, but also to help them become better individuals prepared for the world in which they live.

Registration Details
Registrants must be 5 years old or older by 11/01/2023.

• $160.00 per CWA Wrestler (beginner)
• $200.00 per Navy/Lehigh Wrestler (advanced)

Discounts are $25.00 for each sibling after first registrant is paid in full.

Registration includes: use of a singlet for matches (CWA/Navy Lehigh), uniform shorts and t-shirt to keep, practices with instruction, all scheduled matches and tournaments (amount TBD based on availability) and end of season picnic.

Season Details
Our season begins the week of Monday, November 6, 2023 and ends in late February/early March 2024.  There are two team offerings, CWA and Navy/Lehigh.  CWA is our beginner program and completes in Carroll County.   Navy/Lehigh is our more advanced program and competes as a team and individually both in and outside Carroll County.  

2023/24 Practice Schedule

• CWA at North Carroll High School (NCHS) Monday/Wednesday 6:00pm to 7:30pm
• Navy Lehigh at NCHS Tuesday/Thursday from 6:00pm to 8:00pm AND Wednesdays from 7:30pm to 9:00pm
